Heightened Tensions: US and European Embassies Close in Kyiv Amid Air Attack Threat

The U.S. embassy in Kyiv has temporarily closed its doors after receiving “specific information of a potential significant air attack” expected on Wednesday. Embassies from Italy, Spain, and Greece have also announced closures, reflecting rising concerns over security in the Ukrainian capital.

Russia’s foreign intelligence chief, Sergey Naryshkin, issued a warning to NATO countries, stating that their support for Ukrainian missile strikes deep into Russian territory would not go unpunished. This statement was reported by Russia’s state-run RIA news agency.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s military intelligence has claimed a successful strike on a Russian command post in Gubkin, located in Russia’s Belgorod region, approximately 168 km (105 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

In response, Russia reported the downing of 50 Ukrainian drones across several regions, including Novgorod, Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Samara, highlighting the escalating intensity of drone warfare.
