Escalation of Conflict: Israeli Strikes Intensify in Gaza and Lebanon
The Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza faces an "extreme catastrophe," according to its director, as Israeli forces target the facility. The hospital, sheltering children and elderly patients suffering from malnutrition, has become a focal point of the ongoing conflict.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking from Gaza, declared that Hamas would no longer govern the enclave. He also announced $5 million rewards for the safe return of Israeli captives held by Hamas.
In southern Lebanon, Israeli forces killed three Lebanese soldiers. Meanwhile, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that four Ghanaian peacekeepers were injured by a rocket believed to have been launched by "non-state actors."
The war’s toll continues to rise. In Gaza, Israeli attacks have killed at least 43,972 Palestinians and injured 104,008 since October 7, 2023. Hamas-led attacks that day resulted in 1,139 Israeli deaths and the capture of more than 200 individuals.
In Lebanon, Israeli strikes have led to 3,544 deaths and 15,036 injuries since the conflict expanded into the region.
